Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for COVID-19, will miss next match against Sweden
Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19, the Portuguese soccer federation announced on Tuesday.
The federation said its star forward “is doing well, without symptoms,” and has been quarantined. Ronaldo is the only player among the current selection of Portuguese players to test positive following a round of coronavirus tests on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old took part in Nations League match against France on Sunday which ended 0-0. The Juventus forward will miss Portugal’s next UEFA Nations League game against Sweden on Wednesday.
No French players have been announced as having tested positive as of Tuesday.
